描述
Microbiota is a collective term for all microbial organisms in a specific habitat at a specific time, consisting of non cellular viruses (including bacteriophages), eukaryotic and archaea in prokaryotes, and eukaryotic microorganisms. Correspondingly, microbiota can be divided into virus group, bacterial group, archaea group, and eukaryotic cell type microbiota. And microbiome is the sum of gene sequences (including homologous sequences) contained in a specific habitat at a specific time. The two are not completely corresponding, and the scope of the microbiome is broader, especially in animal and plant microbiomes. There is overlap between the microbiome and its host genome - mainly the homologous gene sequences contained in the host genome with microorganisms, especially the homologous parts with viral gene sequences. Correspondingly, the microbiome can also be divided into virus group, bacterial group, archaea group, and eukaryotic cell type microbiome.
